Notes from our guests when asked: What did you do for fun on Whidbey Island?
Adults of all ages:
"Drinking coffee in the morning, looking out the windows at Penn Cove was a favorite thing to do. Chocolate mousse and mocha almond fudge ice cream at Kapaws Ice Kreme was yummy!"
"Ebey Landing beach was great for walking - easy parking, flat beach."
"Girl's Weekend! No family - just 3 friends - what a treat. We shopped at Coupeville Farmer's Market, Bayview Market and in Langley. Ate great food, read, knitted and relaxed. Will do this again soon."
"We were looking for a quite place to find the peace to do some inner work. We found it in this house. Thank you!"
"We really enjoyed staying at this cottage for a holiday weekend getaway from the city. The weather cooperated beautifully so we could visit Fort Casey State Park and the Admiralty Head Lighthouse and walk along the beach at Ebey's Landing. The little shops and historic buildings in Coupeville were also fun to see. Thanks for a relaxing weekend."
"I love the cabin, so comfy, what a view of Penn Cove.....what a wonderful weekend."
"Rode bikes to the Coupeville ferry (5 miles) then a trip over to Port Townsend. Ate at a cool 50's diner on the waterfront in downtown Port Townsend."
"We watched an amazing thunder & lightening storm this evening. The cottage was surrounded. Very cool!"
"The kids loved walking on the beaches collecting rocks and shells. They brought a bag of shells and rocks home today. They were having a hard time deciding what to keep."
"Eating ice cream at Kapaws Ice Kreme in Coupeville - home made waffle cones are yummy."
"Walking at Double Bluff beach, dinner at Christopher's in Coupeville and drinking wine in the sunshine here....were all great."
Kids and teens:
"I liked going to the forts (Fort Casey and Fort Ebey) and walking along the beach. Outside is great especially on the beach. You can find so many things there . I found a horseshoe and a crab claw. The shops are great. There are so many mussels on the beach piled high. There must be thousands of them......can't wait till next time."
"We went and got ice cream and walked along the beach looking at all the mussels....the view of Penn Cove is so beautiful here."
"Today we went on the Deception Pass boat tour and saw eagles, herons, and large fish."
"We went walking A LOT which isn't a bad thing because the town and everything is so close. We went down to the dock with the big red building on the end of it and could peer off the edge and see big starfish and 'toe nibblers' (little fish). It was a good trip."
"Go to Fort Casey and walk along the beach. Walking in the light house at Fort Casey is fun too. Make sure to bring a lunch - lots of fun. We also picked up a lot of white rocks (for the cottage collection)....we also went down to the water's edge seeing how far up the tide came before getting us wet or we had to run backwards. Lots of fun."
"We climbed on the cliff in Coupeville, east on the beach by the boat launch."
"We walked around town a bunch! We probably walked 2+ miles. We went to the Honey Bear candy store and got candy really cheep! YUM!.....went to Fort Casey which was fun. It had a lot of deer there which were so cute! The beach was really gorgeous! There were so many white rocks on that beach."
